Montessori educational program that contains specially designed, manipulative materials that attract children to engage in learning activities of personal choice. Children in a Montessori classroom learn by making discoveries with materials, cultivating concentration, motivation, and self-discipline. Montessori education builds on the continuing self-construction of the child daily, weekly, and yearly for the duration of the program. Classrooms are mixed-age and prepared environments introducse an uninterrupted series of learning channels, a continuum.
